Miriam Ann Knee of Grand Forks passed away April 4, 2013, at the age of 102, at her home in Silver Kettle Village after a long and happy life.

Miriam was born in Worcester, England on December 12, 1910 to Harry and Charlotte Munslow. She attended school in England. During World War II she drove a lorry during the bombing of London. After the war, she moved to Canada to join her older sister in Montreal. It was here that she met John Knee, and on December 18, 1954 she was united in marriage to John. They settled in Delta, B.C. On December 1, 1969 she became a Canadian Citizen.

Miriam, with her husband John, moved to Christina Lake in the early 1990s. Miriam loved to entertain her friends in her home at Christina Lake. In 2005, she and John moved into Boundary Lodge, where they resided together until John’s death in 2009. In 2010, Miriam celebrated her 100th birthday at Boundary Lodge with her many friends. She recently moved into Residential Care at Silver Kettle Village.

Miriam was predeceased by her husband John in 2009; her parents, Harry and Charlotte; and her four brothers and three sisters.

She will be missed by her special friends. At her request, no funeral service will be held. A Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, April 10, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. at the Grand Forks Funeral Home.
