It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Michael Harvey. Mike passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by family on November 10th, 2022.
Mike was born June 22nd 1956 in London, Ontario to Ted and Doris Harvey and was raised in Strathroy, Ontario with his siblings Brenda and Doug.
Mike attended college where he majored in agriculture.
In 1976 Mike and his future wife, Joyce left home to find adventure in British Columbia where they were married in 1977 and started a family.
The Harvey's lived in Langley and Kelowna before calling Grand Forks home in 1994. Mike was an avid gardener and had a passion for woodworking. Mike played hockey in his youth and both played and coached softball with his wife.
Mike is predeceased by his parents Ted and Doris Harvey, his nephews Rafe Carol, and Mike Harvey.
Mike is survived by his wife of 45 years, Joyce Harvey, his children Michelle (Jon) Harvey-Rutherford, Curtis (Dawney) Harvey, Tristan (Alexis) Harvey and his seven grandchildren Ian, Matthew, Curtis, Colton, Dylan, Ryan, and Jaxon, his siblings Brenda Carroll and Doug Harvey along with several nieces and nephews and a multitude of friends.
Mike will be remembered for his ability to make friends anywhere, his wicked sense of humor and his devotion to his family.
At Mike's request there will be no funeral instead the family will host a celebration of life at a later date.
