Jul 30, 1924 - Jan 11, 2018
Born in Penny, BC on July 30, 1924, Maurice Davis, known to friends as "Moe", gently left this life on January 11, 2018 at the age of 93, with family by his side at his residence in Grand Forks, BC.

Moe was predeceased by his brother Frank, his sisters Dorothy and Inez, eldest daughter Margaret and his youngest son John Joseph.

He is survived by his second wife Alice, the mother of his children Margaret Pritchard and their children Maury (Donna), Kathi (Ritchey), Leslie (Margaret) and Janey (Paul), granddaughters Tricia (Aaron), Nikki (Tyler), and Elizabeth, grandson John junior, great grandsons Liam, Vincent, Aiden and Linden, brother-in-law Tom Taylor, nephews, nieces and cousins, as well as his extended family - Alice's children Connie (Skip), Sherry (Lance) and Wayne (son Linus), and his friend for over 70 years Jack (Donna) James.

Moe started his career in the forest industry at a young age, eventually becoming a faller and then a bullbucker with MacMillan Bloedel, residing in various coastal camps and communities in BC, until settling in Squamish in 1963 where he remained until his retirement in 1982.

He enjoyed the outdoors and camping with his family in his younger years and later liked travelling south with Alice in their RV for many years during his retirement. He and Alice made their home in Grand Forks in the early 1990s where they kept a large vegetable garden, tended their bee hives, renovated their home, and enjoyed the company of the many friends they made there.

For hobbies Moe loved watching baseball and old John Wayne movies, feeding birds at the feeder he built, and taking excursions with Alice around the Kootenay area on both sides of the border. A handyman at heart, Moe was always happiest when he had a project on the go and was willing to help others with theirs too. Quick to laugh and tell stories he will always be remembered, never to be forgotten by all who knew him well.

Lovingly remembered by all of his family and friends.

Cremation arrangements were entrusted by Grand Forks Funeral Home.
