Mary was born on March 10, 1914, at Brandon, Manitoba, and passed away at Hardy View Lodge at Grand Forks, B.C., on February 7, 2011,at the age of 96.
She was predeceased by her loving husband Alex in 1984 and is survived by many cousins, nephews and nieces; including Linda Sadwnichik and Verna Negraiff.
Mary married Alex in 1935 and was a typical housewife of the era. She loved using her hands with sewing, knitting, crocheting, gardening and embroidering and was very good at what she did.
She was known to be very thrifty and enjoy traveling. Family meant a lot to her.
A viewing for Mary was held at Grand Forks Funeral Home on Friday, February 11, 2011, at 10:30 a.m., with a graveside service following at the Evergreen Cemetery at Grand Forks, B.C.
A memorial of Mary’s life will be held in the summertime. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to the Alzheimer Society. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Baker family of Grand Forks Funeral Home. Condolences may be sent to gffh@shaw.ca.
