Apr 17, 1936 - Jan 6, 2018
Mary Borisenkoff of Grand Forks, BC passed away January 6, 2018 at Boundary Hospital surrounded by her loved ones.

Mary was born in Grand Forks on April 17, 1936 to Mike and Fanny Stoochnoff. She was predeceased by her parents, her husband Nick, her sisters Jane Sofonoff and Elsie Savinkoff, her brothers Mike Stoochnoff and Bill Stoushnoff and her infant grandson David Lee Wall.

Mary is survived by her daughters Lori Holmes, Sherry and Debbie Armstrong, her grandchildren, her great-grandchildren, sisters Helen Maass and Margaret (George) Kesic and numerous nieces, nephews and good friends.

Mary spent most of her life in Grand Forks where she worked for the regional district in the building inspector's office. She loved her job and enjoyed helping people with their inquiries and permit needs. She was always willing to go above and beyond to help people achieve their goals.

After her retirement Mary continued helping people who would call her for information and advice. She was an advocate and researcher. She filled out forms and applications and did income tax for family and friends. Mary took pride and joy in her ability to help people.

Mary also took a lot of pride in her home and especially her garden. Many hours were spent lovingly tending to her garden. Eventually Mary sold her home to her granddaughter Lena and her partner Landon. As hard as it was to let go of that part of her life she was excited to still have a hand in helping with the garden and took great pride in passing on her knowledge and experience.

Mary's ashes will be buried with her mom on Mother's Day with a celebration of life to follow.

We love you and miss you so much.
