February 19, 1935 - December 16, 2019
Marjorie Dergousoff passed away into the presence of her Lord on December 16, 2019 in Langley, B.C.
Marjorie began her life on a farm in Buchanan, Saskatchewan on February 19, 1935. She was the youngest daughter of Nick and Polly Dergousoff. Marjorie, along with her brother Billy and sisters Marie and Hazel, lived on the family farm with their cousins, uncles, aunties and grandparents. They had a lot of fun on the farm, playing games which included ice hockey with Baba as goalie and chasing the family farm animals.
Later, Marjorie's family joined the extended family in a move to Grand Forks, B.C. Here family gatherings continued often accompanied by Marjorie, her sister Hazel and cousin Johnny's singing.
Marjorie decided to go into teaching and went to Victoria to receive her education. She taught for many years in the interior of B.C. and mostly in Langley.
Marjorie will be fondly remembered for her spunky spirit and wonderful sense of humor. She loved her Lord Jesus dearly and would almost seem to "fly away" when singing about heaven.
Marjorie was a pioneer in busing children to Sunday School at Cloverdale Pentecostal Church. Her home was always welcoming with Marjorie's famous cooking and hospitality. After retiring, Marjorie hit the road hiking, biking and lawn bowling. These activities brought many wonderful friends into her life.
Marjorie was asked recently what was her favorite song. "Faithful One" she replied. Here are some of the words, "Faithful One so unchanging, Ageless One you're my Rock of Peace. Lord of All, I depend on You..." Bibles in Marjorie's home were not for show, but clearly showed the wear and tear of someone who dearly loved to read God's Word.
Heartfelt thanks to the staff and nurses at Langley Hospice for the wonderful care and support they provided. As well thanks to the many friends who visited Marjorie. Your care and thoughtfulness is appreciated.
A memorial will be held at Westwinds Community Church in Langley at a future date. We'll miss you Marjorie until we meet again.
