It is with heaviest of hearts that we announce that Marcia Tomilin passed away peacefully with her loving family by her side on November 16, 2019. She will be forever loved and remembered by her son Ryan (Alana), daughters Alana (Brad) and Christy (Neil) as well as her grandchildren: Melissa, Caleb, Jonah, Linden, Isaac and her great granddaughter Farrah. She is also survived by her brother Mike (Lynda) and her sister Elaine (Jim) and their families. Marcia was predeceased by her beloved husband Bill, her parents Mike and Polly Woykin and her brother Johnny. Marcia was born and raised in Grand Forks and it was here that she met her loving husband Bill and raised her three children. Marcia was very active and dedicated to her family and the community. If she wasn't chasing after and supporting her children in all their accomplishments and activities and her husband in his own business, she was starting up her own successful entrepreneur adventure of Uptown Sew and Serge where she shared her passion for great fabric and all things sewing for many years. Marcia loved to garden, especially flowers evidenced by more than the 30 plus pots you would find around her house.
Marcia enjoyed spending time in her kitchen baking. There were never days you wouldn't find homemade chocolate chip cookies, chocolate rice krispy squares or delicious banana bread ready to devour when the grand kids stopped in after school to visit.
After Marcia retired she looked forward to and treasured spending more time with her 5 cherished grandchildren and little great granddaughter as well as her little fur buddy Reuben.
Marcia will be remembered for her big smile, huge hugs and for asking a question and answering it all at the same time!
The love and devotion that Marcia extended to her family will be dearly missed and she will forever be in our hearts. We find comfort knowing that Mom and Dad are together again and in each other's arms. Until we meet again, Mom, Grandma, GG, Marcia, know that we love you and will hold you close to our hearts forever.
A family graveside service has taken place and a Celebration of Life to honour Marcia will take place in the spring of 2020 when the birds are singing and the flowers are blooming.
