Lorraine Wlasoff

October 5, 2019

November 29, 1928 - October 5, 2019
Lorraine Wlasoff passed away in peace at age 90, on October 5, 2019. She was born on November 29, 1928, in Kamsack, Saskatchewan, to Annie and George Abrosimoff. She was the youngest sister of Mary, Helen and John. At age 15 she moved with her family to Grand Forks, where in 1946 she married Walter Wlasoff.
Lorraine became a mother, a baba, and an "old baba." From her garden, she made the favourite foods of generation after generation: atvar from her raspberries, jams from her strawberries and apricots, borscht and bean soup from her vegetables. Her home was a centre of love for her family, and her generosity continued throughout her life. She greeted every visitor to her door with the question, "What can I give you?" This was true even in Sunshine Manor, and Lorraine's family would like to express their special thanks to the staff there.
Lorraine was pre-deceased by her husband Walter, who passed away in 1990, and is survived by their children Nadia, Linda (Myler), Marianne (Steve), and George; nine grandchildren Michael, Sara, Nathan, Anna, Chelsey (Ryan), Stephen (Karly), Alyson, Dayna, and Ashley; and two great-grandchildren (Isabella and Gabriel). Lorraine is at rest at the USCC Cemetery in Grand Forks. She was dearly loved by all.
