Linda Marie Martens' journey on earth ended August 16, 2017 in Grand Forks, BC after a battle with cancer.

Linda was born May 16, 1942 to Nick and Elizabeth Reimer in Rosemary, Alberta. She grew up on a dairy farm in Chilliwack, BC, helping her dad milk the cows and helping her mom sew. As a young girl she took piano lessons and so began her love for music.

After high school she attended St. Paul's Hospital and completed nurse's training. Linda continued to share her love of music by accompanying countless choirs and soloist at the Gospel Chapel and taught piano lessons for over 30 years to many children.

Her most treasured occupation was that of grandma to her seven grandchildren. She loved baking for them, reading to them and sewing special quilts for each of them.

Linda struggled with cancer four times in her life and lost the battle this August.

Linda loved God. She was diligent in memorizing and in sharing God's Word and passed the Truth on to her children and grandchildren. During her final battle with cancer, she continued to trust in the Good Shepherd's leading without complaining.

Linda is survived by her husband Ted, her children Kristine (Oddie), Geoff (Naomi), her four siblings and her seven grandchildren. The family thanks the compassionate and caring staff of Boundary Hospital involved with her care. Donations in memory of Linda can be made to the Pines Bible Camp. Celebration of life is Saturday, August 26, 11 a.m. at the Gospel Chapel.
