Apr 24, 1918 - Dec 24, 2017
Lillian Simcock passed away peacefully on December 24, 2017 at the Kootenay Regional Boundary Hospital in Trail, just four months before her 100th birthday.

Lillian was born on April 24, 1918 in Willow Bunch, Saskatchewan. The family moved to Trail and lived there briefly before moving to Rossland.

She married Sidney Simcock on October 26, 1941 and soon after they were married, Sidney joined the RCAF. He was posted to Trenton, Ontario where Lillian joined him and upon his discharge, they returned to Rossland. They soon bought a home and lived there for over 40 years until they moved permanently to Christina Lake and then to Grand Forks in June of 2011.

She worked for a number of years in retail and she always had fond memories of the time she was employed at the Colonial Flower Shop in Rossland. This job suited her perfectly as she loved to spend time visiting with her customers. A highlight for her each year was to prepare the boutonnieres and corsages for the graduating class at the Rossland High School.

She was a long time volunteer of the Hospital Auxiliary in Rossland and continued that service when they moved to Christina Lake, a span of almost 50 years. And she loved to play bridge - so much so that she belonged to the same bridge club for over 50 years. She sang in the church choir for many years at both St. Andrew's United Church in Rossland and Perley United at Christina Lake.

Lillian will be remembered as one who truly cared about family and friends. While they were living at the lake, an annual highlight in May of each year was the gathering of her siblings, their spouses and cousin Gladys Henshilwood. When she moved to Boundary Lodge, she was surrounded by visitors who enjoyed her company and her sharp wit. She was a loyal and loving friend to all and she will be deeply missed.

Lillian is survived by a sister in law, Ruth Buick and a brother in law, Bill Cameron as well as nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was predeceased by her husband, Sidney, daughter Louise and son in law, John Pitt, her parents, her sisters (Jean Calder, Beth Burley and Margaret Cameron), her brother John Buick, her brothers in law (David Calder and Cyril Burley), her sisters in law (Frances Wurzburg and Molly Hunt) and a nephew, Gene Wurzburg.

A celebration of life was held for Lillian at St. John's United Church in Grand Forks on January 5.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Boundary Lodge, Boundary Pastoral Charge or to a charity of choice.

The family would like to extend their thanks and appreciation to the staff €at Boundary Lodge for the wonderful care and love that Lillian received.
