Leonard Andrew Baes passed away suddenly Sept. 8, 2010, at the age of 63. Leonard was born May 5, 1947 in Hanna, Alberta to his parents Frederick and Emma Baes. He is loving survived by his wife Violet of 43 years; his children Shauni (Blaine), Tim (Danica), Jamie (Keith) and Eric (Nicole); his grandchildren Joshua, Madelynne, Karlee, Kaitlyn, Kjell, Ethan and two step-grandchildren, Tyler and Cassidy; his three sisters, Marie (Mike) Kindred, Joan (Mike) Sawchuck, and twin sister Ester Denneus; his sister-in-law Luba (Randy) Wolfe; and many nieces and nephews. Leonard was an employee of School District 51 for many years. He enjoyed carpentry, woodworking, hunting, fishing, camping and playing in the great outdoors. A memorial service will be held in the honour of Leonard Baes on Wednesday, September 15 and 1 p.m. and the Grand Forks Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, please give to a charity of your choice.
