Leona passed away peacefully on February 11th 2024 at the age of 90 in Grand Forks, BC. She was born in Upper Charlo NB May 29th, 1933, to Mathias and Edna McIntyre (Nee Leveque).
Leona (Lea) was predeceased by husband Fred, twin sister Mona (Gerald Boe), daughter Sharlette Haaf, and grandson Travis Keith.
She is survived by her brother Wayne McIntyre (Darlene), Haaf family children; Jessica Keith of Grand Forks, William (Debbie) of Fort St. John, Timothy (Lisa) of Courtenay, and Dwayne (Linda) of Vernon, 11 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren. She is also fondly remembered by her many nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends.
A service is planned for May 29th 2024 at Grand Forks Funeral Home with interment to follow. A Celebration of Life will be held on the following weekend, a venue in Grand Forks TBD.
The family thanks Boundary Hospital for the great care provided, and also Boundary Lodge where she lovingly spent her past 5 years.
