Born Feb. 19, 1945 in Edam, SK. Passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on December 30, 2019 in Grand Forks at the age of 74.
He is predeceased by his parents Albert and Ruth Stubbington, special Aunt Fay Rogers and sister Eileen Browne. He is survived by his loving wife of 46 years Maria, son Greg, daughter Andrea (Darren), grandchildren Ty and Chase, brother Gary (Ruby), brother-in-laws Jim (Ria), Mario and Vic, and numerous nieces and nephews, cousins and many wonderful friends who where like family.
Stubby was a long-time employee of West Kootenay Power (Fortis BC). He enjoyed golfing, spending numerous hours volunteering and of course, playing at the Christina Lake Golf Course. He spent many years as a Gyro member and loved to curl.
Shortly after moving to Grand Forks he joined the Volunteer Fire Dept, coached Little League as well as Ladies Fast Ball and was also involved with Minor Hockey as a coach.
A Celebration of Life will take place on Saturday, Feb. 1, 2020 at 11 am at The Gospel Chapel, 7048 Donaldson DR Grand Forks.
Special thanks to the doctors and nursing staff at Boundary Hospital for all the excellent care and support. You were wonderful.
