In loving memory ~
Lawrence (Larry) Wunder embarked on his final journey on March 8, 2025, at the age of 87 in Grand Forks, BC. Larry was born on November 28, 1937, to Norman and Margaret Wunder, in Sheho, Saskatchewan.
Larry's life was a grand adventure. He began working at the young age of 16 with Saskatchewan Telephone, which set the stage for a lifelong career with BC Telephone. He dedicated himself to this profession until his retirement at the age of 55.
Larry was a multifaceted individual renowned for his extensive knowledge across a wide range of fields. Whether it was hunting, car repairs, construction or any other topic, there was hardly a subject about which Larry did not possess insight. An avid hunter and archer, Larry had a deep passion for the outdoors and his lifelong work with fish and wildlife knew no limits. Known for his readiness to lend a helping hand, Larry's generous spirit was evident to all who knew him. Though he was a man of few words, his insights resonated deeply; when he spoke, we listened.
As a husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, Larry's loss will leave a significant void in the lives of his family and friends. He is survived by his loving wife, Margie Wunder, and his children: J, Diane, and Robert (Marla) Wunder. Larry took pride in his role as a grandfather, leaving behind cherished memories with his grandchildren: Scott Savitskoff, Cody (Megan) Savitskoff. His legacy continues through his great-grandchildren: Gabe, Corbin, Sophie, and Charlotte Savitskoff.
We extend our deepest gratitude to Larry's friends across Canada, his extended family and friends in Saskatchewan as well as the staff at Hardy View Lodge. Your unwavering support and kindness brought joy to his days. Your thoughtfulness made a significant difference in his life, and we truly appreciate the love and connection you provided.
Larry's presence in our lives was a blessing, and he will be remembered fondly by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
In lieu of flowers we ask that you donate to charities that were dear to Larry's heart: BC Wildlife Federation (bcwf.bc.ca/donate/) and Ducks Unlimited Canada (www.ducks.ca/how-to-help/donation-options/). In lieu of services, Larry's ashes will be brought back to his home is Saskatchewan.
