Laurence (Larry) Jakubowski

August 10, 1941 - May 8, 2022
On Sunday, May 8, 2022, Laurence (Larry) Jakubowski, loving husband, father and grandfather, passed away at the age of 80. Larry was born on August 10, 1941 in Grayson, Saskatchewan to Anton and Liliane Jakubowski.
On January 5, 1963 he married the love of his life, Pat Jakubowski (Zibin). Together they raised two daughters, Misty and Trisha. During the course of their 57 year marriage the family moved a number of times around southern B.C., finally settling in Grand Forks in 1975. Larry worked various careers including owning his own business and eventually retiring from Pope & Talbot. Larry loved to garden and took great pride in his lawn and flowers, which many compared to a park. He especially loved all of his grandchildren.
Larry was predeceased by his wife, Pat, his parents, and brothers, Arthur and David. He is survived by his brothers, Eddie, Phil, Jim and Richard, his sisters, Irene and Hilda, his daughters Misty and Trisha (Brent), his three grandchildren, Zachary, Meagan and Jacob, and step-grandchildren, Jessica and Murray.
Larry passed away while at Ivy House, in the Silver Kettle. The family would like to thank all of the staff at the Silver Kettle for their care and kindness, as well as Dr. Szynkaruk and his staff for their support.
There will be a celebration of life held on June 18, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. at the Grand Forks Legion for both Larry and Pat with internment at the Sion Cemetery at 11:00 a.m. for family and friends.
