September 12, 1945 - April 14, 2022
With sadness filled in our hearts, we regrettably announce the passing of Larry Podmoroff on April 14, 2022
Larry was the first child of five born to Sam and Mary Podmoroff. Being born in a small shack in the Riverside area of Grand Forks, Larry spent most of his life never very far from where he was born. After retuning home from Ontario, he remained very close to his mother Mary and together they looked after each other.
Larry was a very accomplished finishing carpenter in the Grand Forks area. He attended trade school in Kelowna and his apprentice took him to various places around British Columbia. He has left his stamp in the many homes he has renovated and will be remembered by those who all experienced his exceptional skill.
Larry lived a simple life, but a life full of enjoyment, always finding time for his favorite pastimes. He was a collector of many objects but took the most pride in his coin collection. He loved being out in nature, enjoying hunting, fishing, or cutting firewood. Some of his most memorable fishing trips were his all-day excursions with his grandson Riley. Larry had a natural skill in archery and in recent years attended many BC Senior Summer Games, coming home with many gold medals.
Larry was predeceased by his very young sister Barbara Ann and his father Sam. He is survived by his mother, Mary Podmoroff, his sisters Laverne (Lovie) Makortoff, Diana Popoff, and brother Samuel Podmoroff. He is also survived by his son Anthony Podmoroff and wife Sandy, grandchildren, James, Samuel, and Ben and his daughter Artessa, husband Trevor Wiker, grandsons Riley and Owen. Larry's family of many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends will truly miss him in his passing.
