In loving memory ~
Judith Hamm, age 83, died Oct 31, 2024, in Grand Forks, BC, Canada.
She was born July 8, 1941, in Springfield, Ma. to Howard Francis Hamm and Charlotte Everton Davison. Judith attended Antioch College, Yellow Springs, Ohio and Ohio State University, Columbus, Ohio. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Occupational Therapy in 1964 and practiced Occupational Therapy in a variety of settings in Canada and the US, including pediatrics and arthritis care.
She is survived by husband Carl Richardson, his children Pam, Scott, and Paul; son Adam Barbolet, with spouse Lucy Swift and their daughters Lilith and Anais; brother Roger Hamm, with wife Peggy Hamm; sister Marcia Hamm Allen; beloved step-daughters Kim Tuttle, Lynn Elston, Robyn Wills and Megan Fanning, their partners and children; and an extended family including nieces, cousins, and more. She was predeceased by her parents, Howard and Charlotte Hamm, and by former husband Tony Elston.
Judith was a creative gardener, who loved to share her garden's produce with others. She was knowledgeable about healing herbs, and was glad to offer this knowledge to others. In retirement, Judith continued a lifetime of care and giving through community volunteering. She worked with the hospice program and community garden in Nanaimo, and the Kettle Valley Food Co-op and the Amateur Radio Club here in Grand Forks. The family is grateful to the friends, and to the health care community, that supported Judith in her struggle with cancer.
