Jack was born on November 28, 1935 on the family farm in Saskatchewan, the second son to Willy and May Siegrist. The family moved to Peachland, BC in 1948.

After graduation Jack returned to Sask and started in the plumbing trade, where he soon became a first class plumber, pipefitter and gas fitter. In 1955 he met Ruth Steffens and they were married Oct. 27, 1956. Their 4 children were born in Moose Jaw, Sask.

In 1968 they moved to Kamloops, BC, where Jack went to work thru the Plumbers Union Hall on projects; including the Kamloops Pulp Mill Expansion, Mica Dam Construction and the Revelstoke Dam Construction.

The family moved to Revelstoke, BC in 1978. In 1985 he took a job with Parks Canada and retired in 1990. Jack and Ruth moved to Grand Forks, BC in 1992.

Jack was always ready to help anyone in need and did many jobs for seniors.

Jack always enjoyed trucks and in recent years restored a 1953-F100 pick up and a 1928 Model A Roadster pickup and showed them at many local and surrounding area car shows.

Jack was predeceased by his brothers Murray & Robert, sister Eunice, niece Carrie & brother-in-law Melville.

He is survived by his wife Ruth of 61 years, sons Wesley and Gordon (Sandy), daughters Catherine (Massimo) and Dianne (Brian), grandaughters Stephanie (Kurt) and Joscelyn (Brent) and grandson Tyler (Ellen), 5 step-grandchildren and 3 great step-grandchildren, sister Audrey (Ken), brothers-in-law Victor (Shari), Robert and John, sisters-in law Marilynn and Joan and many nieces and nephews.

Cremation has followed and a celebration of life will take place in the Spring of 2018.
