Jack passed away at the age of 83 with his family by his side. He is survived by his wife Alice, whom he married in 1950, and his children Shelley (Horst) Moritz of Whitehorse, YT, Douglas of Castlegar, B.C., Diane (Vonne) Bergstrand of Heffley Creek, B.C., Gordon (Janet) of Fort McMurray, AB, and Nancy (Art) Hall of Sidney, B.C. He had nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sisters Maude Kendall of Radium, B.C., Margaret McInnes of Nakusp, B.C., Gertrude Parsons (Frank) of Ponoka, AB and his brother Thomas (Marge) of Comox, B.C. He was predeceased by his brother Arthur in 1958.

Jack was born at Waldo, B.C. He started working for the BC Telephone Company in 1947 in Grand Forks, B.C. and worked throughout the Kootenays. He transferred to Kamloops, B.C. in 1973 and retired in 1985 with over 37 years of service. There will be no service at this time. The family will gather in Grand Forks, B.C. in the summer for the interment of his ashes.
