John Edward Schofield passed away peacefully Wednesday, Dec. 13th at his home in Grand Forks.
Memorials may be made in his honour to the Canadian Cancer Society.
John was born to Larry and Ida Schofield in Montreal, February 25th 1937.
John was a former member of the Princess Patricia's Canadian Light Infantry Airborne Regiment, was stationed in Germany and remembers his time in the service fondly.
John is survived by his loving wife of 56 years Evelyn, son Larry, daughters Cathy and Em, sisters Lynne and Sydney, grandchildren Johnny-Ray, Alexandria, Stephen and Sophia, loving in-laws, nieces and nephews.
John was an elder at the Christ Lutheran Church in Grand Forks where he was spiritually nourished by his friends, the parishioners, and Pastor Ken Schauer.
John valiantly fought his battle with cancer with dignity and strength and will be remembered lovingly.
