August 15, 1923 - November 6, 2018
On November 6, 2018, Jean Saysie Causley passed away peacefully at Boundary Hospital in Grand Forks, B.C. at the age of 95. 

Jean was born to Peter and Marie Durrant on August 15, 1923 in Uckfield, Sussex, England, the eldest of their three children.

As a young girl, she helped out in the family store and as a teenager, she attended secretarial college at Brighton, where she excelled at typing and shorthand. As a young woman, she cycled throughout much of England and Scotland, where she met her husband, Michael.  They were married in 1952 and moved to East Africa. They later returned to England for the birth of their daughter, emigrating to Canada in 1956. They settled in Richmond, later moving to Osoyoos, Oliver and finally Grand Forks.  Jean was active in the Southern Okanagan Association for Independent Community Living for over forty years, as well the Oliver Osoyoos Naturalists Club.

She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Michael, daughter Tina Flanagan (Dennis) of Grand Forks and son David Causley of Oliver, grandsons Mike Petreny (Lorina) and Brian Petreny (Cassie) and great-grandchildren Isaac, James, Sidney and Sarah.
