The Macgregor family regrets to announce the passing of the family Matriarch, Jean Lovell Macgregor, nee Appleyard, on July 6, 2017 at HardyView Lodge. Jean was born in London, England on November 14, 1919. She moved to Victoria, B.C. in 1921, married Robert Macgregor in 1942 and resided throughout the Province, including Grand Forks where she returned in 1997.
Jean was predeceased by her husband Robert in 1989 and granddaughter, Jodi Duncan in 2017. She is survived by six children, Gail (Ken) McKinnon, Jill Cook, Peggy (Mike) O’Brien, Ian (Shari) Macgregor, Blair (Viola) Macgregor, Neil (Pam) Macgregor, 12 grandchildren, and 10 great grandchildren. Jean was well known throughout the Province for her charity work, ranging from preparing dressings for cancer patients to supporting a child in World Vision. She was a Life Member of both the Sunset (44) and Evangeline (31) Chapters of the O.E.S.
A Memorial Service will be held at St John’s United Church in Grand Forks on July 30 at 2.00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the CNIB or a charity of your choice.
