It is with great sadness but wonderful memories that we announce that Jean (Jane B.) Sargent (née Ironside) passed peacefully on Wednesday, May 13th at Boundary Hospital in Grand Forks, British Columbia in her 91st year. She will be dearly missed by her husband George, son George (Gladys), brother Elliot (Dalla), granddaughters Robbyn (Adam) and Sydney, as well as her family in Scotland, England, and Canada. Born in Mallaig, Scotland, Jean immigrated to British Columbia in 1953, later settling to raise her family in the beautiful farming community of Dunster, eventually retiring to Grand Forks. Jean will be sadly missed by her family and friends. It is with sincere gratitude that we recognize the efforts of the palliative care, home care, and hospice staff at Boundary Hospital. A graveside service for family and close friends is planned for Saturday, May 23, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. followed by a gathering at the family home.
