Jean was born February 9, 1926 in Tisdale Sask. and passed away July 15, 2016 at Grand Forks, B.C. She moved from Saskatchewan to British Columbia in 1938, her family running stores in Osoyoos, Greenwood and Beaverdell.

Jean met this handsome man in a Navy uniform at a dance in Midway; Frank Edwin Carpenter, who became her husband on March 3, 1948. After they married, they settled in Midway on land that was given to Frank in lieu of pay for his war efforts in Europe. They built a house and began farming. They were an integral part in building their community, Midway.

Jean started curling at the inception of the curling rink and ended her curling career in her 87th year. She loved her hometown and was proud to be from Midway.

Jean and Frank had 3 children. Barb Carpenter (Doug Jones), Earle Carpenter (Evelyn Biro) and Cindy Tremblay (Cary Tremblay), grandchildren; Jonathon Carpenter (Mindy), Crystal Presttun (Eirik), Sarah Geen (Marc), Jennifer Tremblay-Fitton (Tom) and Ray Tremblay and great grandchildren, Emma, Rachel, Grace, Paige, Patty, Austin, Lucas, Zoey, Jamisyn, Kaydence, Matias, Sienna and Savea.

Jean was predeceased by her husband Frank but is loving survived by her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Jean loved her family and was fiercely protective of her children and grandchildren. She had many friends and enjoyed being around them. She will always be in our hearts and we will miss her every day.
