In loving memory ~
With fondness and sadness, we share the news that our father, James (Jim) Lawrence Rush, previously of Grand Forks, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 5, 2023, at his long-term care home in Victoria, B.C. His gentle kind spirit was loved by all his caregivers both at Hardy View Lodge in Grand Forks and at Glenwarren Lodge in Victoria. His life-affirming smile and that twinkle in his eye that signalled the true delight and joy he found in life every day is remembered by all who knew him. As a journeyman painter and a business owner Dad was always on the move, and when he retired he returned to some of his favourite pastimes; walking, especially with his dog Boo, bicycling, gardening, reading, and oil painting. These simple pleasures and time spent with his children and grandchildren were the hallmarks of Dad's life and sustained him through life's challenges. We will always be grateful for his gift to us: an appreciation for life's joys and the ability to see the beauty all around us. We will miss him deeply, but our hearts are filled with his love. Dad is predeceased by his son James (Jimmy) Rush, his two brothers, Jack Rush and Gary Rush, and is survived by his sister, Joan Rush, his two daughters, Teresa Lynn Rezansoff (Steve), and Michele Ann Moore-V (Rogerio), his ten grandchildren, Jaime, Brandon, Cody, Thomas, Haley, Andrew, Annalise, Jayson, Josh, Mia, and fourteen great-grandchildren. If you so desire, donations in Dad's name to the Hardy View Lodge would be welcomed.
