Helen Hadikin passed away peacefully at Hardy View Lodge on Monday, August 30, 2021. Helen was born in Grand Forks, BC on June 24, 1935 to Mike and Christine Plotnikoff.
She married Tim Hadikin on May 18, 1957 in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho and they made their home in Midway, BC. They had 3 children; Mike, Holly and Wayne.
Helen was predeceased by her husband Tim (1995), father Mike (1983), mother Christine (1987), sister Myrna Parakin (2003), and brothers George (2012) and Mike (2018).
After Tim passed away she remained in Midway until she fell ill and entered Hardy View Lodge in 2019.
Left to mourn her passing are son's Mike and Wayne of Midway, BC and daughter Holly (Earl) Salamandyk of Grand Forks, BC.
Helen's family would like to thank the wonderful staff of Hardy View Lodge for their outstanding care and emotional support they gave her while staying there. Her last years were made easier because you were in her life.
The family would also like to thank awesome neighbours John and Bev Hibberson for helping out with moms care while she was still at home.
Also a big thank you to Darlene Williams for mom's temporary overnight care before entering Hardy View Lodge, and another big thank you to the Midway home support staff.
And finally, to mom's wonderful friends, neighbour Sakae Yoshida for years of cheerful words, Bill & Jane Faminoff for walks and visits , and to Maxine Sherbinin for a life long friendship that will live on forever.
In lieu of flowers, the family wishes that you make a donation to a charity of your choice.
A visitation was held on Saturday, September 4th at 11 am at the Grand Forks Funeral Home with a burial following at the SION Cemetery.
