Harry Koochin

December 23, 2020

August 7, 1938 - December 23, 2020
In Loving Memory ~ Harry passed away peacefully in his home on Hardy Mountain according to his wishes. He loved the mountain dearly and called it home from birth through his last day on Earth.
Harry is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Elsie; sons John (Leeda), Rick; daughters Tami (Andy), Debra (Ross); 5 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; sister Marilyn; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and in-laws.
Harry spent most of his life working in the woods in a variety of jobs from cutting firewood, fighting forest fires, making posts or railroad ties or cedar shakes, planting trees to picking mushrooms in his later years. He was an avid fisherman and some of his happiest memories were of times spent fishing on the local creeks, rivers and lakes.
The family wishes to express their heartfelt appreciation to all the home support care aides for providing such compassionate care to Harry. Thank you also to Dr. Lewis and Dr. Liu for their excellent medical care. Thank you for all the love and support we received from family and friends during this challenging time.
Harry was buried at the Sion Cemetery on Dec. 30, 2020. A Celebration of Life will be held in the spring, depending on Covid 19 restrictions.
