August 16, 2016

Harold Milton Brown

May 30, 1932 – August 16, 2016

Harold was born in Viscount, Sask. and moved to B.C. with his family as a very young boy; growing up on the family dairy farm in Clayburn.

He loved trucking and started driving truck at a young man.

He met the love of his life; Verna in 1952, when he drove Verna and her parent to their first house when getting off the train from Alberta to B.C.

Harold married Verna on August 27, 1955 and started working for the Dept. of Highways; working on the mobile crusher crew and then driving truck and snow plows. He also drove long haul trucking throughout Canada and the U.S.

Besides his love for trucks, he enjoyed farming and teaching his daughters to change the oil and tires on the vehicles.

Harold leaves behind his wife Verna, 4 daughters; Barb (Paul) Makortoff, Lorraine (Rick) Aldrich, Sheila (Pierre) Boucher and Donna (Lyle) Egely. 9 Grandchildren; Willow (Scott), Cody (Sharon), Meryha (Mike), Crystal, Tyler (Keigan), Michael (Danielle), Matthew (Sara) and Adrian (Amy) and 13 great grandchildren; Laine, Owen, Taylor, Will, Aly, Ben, Ireland, Ricky, Aveiry, Coral, Nevaeh, Tygen and Kodis.

A special thank you to all the doctors and wonderful nurses and staff of Boundary Hospital, wonderful neighbours; who surrounded the family with caring hearts and helpful hands, to Al and Gwen Pauls and all those at the North Fork Community Club.

A Celebration of Harold’s life was held on Saturday August 20, 2016 at the Brown Creek Hall, Grand Forks, B.C. at 2:00 p.m.
