After a nine-month adventure with leukemia, Gwen was born into the spiritual realm on Sunday, March 25.

Predeceased by parents William and Olive Muir; husband Leo; brother Lanny; and two nephews. Survived by and remembered with love by sisters: Shirley (Ted), Beverley (Wray), and Bernice; sister-in-law, Susan; brother, David (Barbara); sons, Robert and Leo, daughter, Michelle (Ben); seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews; and many friends.

Gwen was born at Cranbrook and grew up at Powell River. She earned a degree in Rehabilitation Medicine from U.B.C., and worked for many years as a paediatric physiotherapist. Gwen lived at Grand Forks for many years and in several other communities of B.C., including Parksville and Penticton. She moved to the Comox Valley in 2000. Later she spent two years on Quadra Island and returned to Comox in 2011.

A celebration of life for Gwen was held on Wednesday, April 4, 2012, at 1:30 p.m., at Comox Valley Funeral Home and Reception Centre, 1101 Ryan Road, Courtenay, followed by a Bahá’í burial at Courtenay Civic Cemetary.
