Glendine passed away on April 21, 2019 at the age of 93 in Princeton, British Columbia.
Glendine was born in Grand Forks, B.C. on August 30, 1925, the 10th of ten children.
After the loss of both parents, she lived with her sister Elva in Grand Forks. When at the very young age of 15, she travelled with her sister to live and work in Vancouver. It was there during W.W.II she met her air force husband, William Brettell. They were married in Vancouver in August 1943. After the war, they moved to Tisdale, Saskatchewan. After the end of the first winter, Glendine decided she was moving back to British Columbia and Bill could follow if he so wished. They both settled in Coquitlam in the early 50's and later retired to Christina Lake in 1987.
Glendine is survived by her son Barry (Diahann) and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents Eli & Mary Kidd, brothers Bruce & Robert and sisters Marjorie, Jeannette, Dorothy, Marie, Ertyle, Ruth and Elva. The family wish to extend a special thanks to her niece Marilyn and friends Mary, Leo, Wendy and the staff at the Grand Forks Hospital and Princeton Hospital.
At her request, there will be no service but we will all cherish wonderful memories of her.
