Gerald passed away peacefully at Hardy View Lodge in Grand Forks BC on January 04 2022.
Jerry was born in Prince Albert Saskatchewan May 08 1939 to Gilles and Maria Painchaud, the eighth oldest child in a family of twelve.
Once graduating in his hometown of Albertville, a hamlet in Saskatchewan northeast of Prince Albert Sask. He ventured to Davidson Saskatchewan in 1959 where he pursued a career in construction working for his older brother Conrad. This would evolve into the trade of drywall/ painting until his retirement in 2012.
In 1976 Jerry and his wife Yvonne along with their four children Darwyn, Lyle, Lyann and Tryna moved to Penticton BC. Jerry would find his way back to Saskatchewan for a number of years before making his way back to the mountains of which he adored to the town of Grand Forks BC. In 1993.
He partnered with his son Lyle doing drywall/painting for the next thirteen years.
Before and during his retirement years, Jerry had a DJ business he would excel at on weekends. He called it the 'Dancing DJ ' as it was well known he had a love for dancing and as such would teach line dancing to locals at the school gym.
Left to mourn are Yvonne, Darwyn (Jeannie), Lyle (Meledy), Lyann (Dwayne), Tryna and his six grandchildren. Sisters - Flore, Denise, Gilbert, Laurette. Brothers - Lucien and Lionel.
He was predeceased by his parents and siblings Laurent, Conrad, Jeanine, Bruno, Paul.
Jerry was privileged to have a great friend in Dale for several years. Dale would see him through his final days and beyond. The family will celebrate Gerald's life this coming summer where as per his wishes, his ashes will be placed next to his mother and father in Albertville Saskatchewan.
