George Arishenkoff

1927 – 2017

George was born on Feb. 12, 1926 in Grand Forks to parents Alec and Lusha Arishenkoff. He was the second oldest of five children, older brother Alec, sisters Vera, Lucy and Audrey. George was a long time member of the carpenters union, working in such places as Campbell River, construction of the Paulson Bridge and Revelstoke Dam. Of note locally he worked on the construction of the Credit Union building and the Sunny View Apartments. George lived a plain and simple life and was a quiet and reserved man.

In December of 2016, with failing health, George moved into Ivy House at Silver Kettle Village. On Sunday, April 2, 2017 George’s earthly journey came to an end and he passed away peacefully at the age of 91. George leaves behind to mourn his loss sisters Vera Pereversoff in Grand Forks, Audrey Negreiff of Spokane, Washington, one nephew, four nieces and many close friends and extended family in the community.

The family would like to thank everyone for their prayers and kind words and assistance during this time of sorrow.
