Francis McAlpine entered into rest peacefully on Sunday, January 3, 2010, at Grand Forks, B.C., at the age of 84. He was born on April 21, 1925, at Vancouver, B.C. Francis is predeceased by Iram (Sam) McWesly/McAlpine (wife), his mother, Hazel Harcourt/McAlpine and his father, Duglad McAlpine. He is lovingly survived by his son, Scott McAlpine, his four daughters: Rhonda Gratham, Heidi McAlpine, Lana McAlpine and Adrienne McAlpine; 10 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Francis was an avid gardener and enjoyed fishing.A memorial service was held on Friday, January 8, 2010 at 11 a.m., at Grand Forks Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Royal Canadian Legion, Grand Forks Branch #59. The funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Baker family of Grand Forks Funeral Home, Grand Forks, B.C.
