Our beloved mother and baba, Frances Reibin, passed away peacefully on January 5, 2017 with family by her side.
She is predeceased by her parents John and Mabel Barisoff (Posnikoff), husband Peter George Reibin, brother William (Bill) Vatkin and son-in-law Simon Smallwood.
She is survived by daughters, Marisa, Diane and Nina, Son Peter (Miriam), treasured grandchildren Adam, Tasha and Elena, sister-in-law Florence, special nieces Cathy, Amy and Bev and many cousins.
Frances was high-spirited and highly energetic with a quick smile and a determination to do things her way. Even through adverse circumstances she was able to turn things around with strength of spirit and personality.
Frances was born in Ootischenia, B.C. on August 16, 1931 and had one cherished brother Bill. She met and married her loving husband Peter and they had four children together. She had a great love for nature with gardening being her number one love after family. She was a great cook and liked to swim in the river, dance and to have a good laugh, either with her close friends on the phone or new people she met in her travels.
Thank you to doctors and the staff at Boundary Hospital who did their best to keep mom comfortable and tried to give her family some support in her last days. Special thanks to Florence Vatkin who was by our sides supporting us every step of the way.
A celebration of life and buriel of her ashes will be held this summer.
