In loving memory ~

It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, Frances Davidoff at the age of 95 years old in her home, with her daughter Mercedes by her side. Frances was raised in the "Horkoff Village" located in the Doukobor Settlement at the top of Spencer Hill in Grand Forks, BC. Her parents were Pete and Dora Babakaiff; she was the oldest of 4 children.

Frances married Alec Davidoff in 1948 and together they raised 3 beautiful children; Allen, Harry and Mercedes. In addition to her involvement with their family logging business, family responsibilities and gardening, Frances had enough energy to also find outside employment working for a number of local farms.

Frances never lost sight of fulfilling her volunteer obligations to her USCC Community. She joined the Grand Forks Ladies Organization Cooking Groups (GFLO) in the 1960's when they were first organized and continued to faithfully volunteer her efforts for nearly 60 years. Frances served as the Head Cook during this time for many fund raising events, banquets and funerals on the (GFLO) Committee for a total of 12 years. She was also part of the Lapsha Ladies Group from the very beginning in (1991); and at the age of 90 still continued to come out and help on a regular basis and enjoy the time with her cooking ladies, whom became dear friends of hers.

Frances truly lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures; chatting with friends and family. She relished her time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren as often as possible. In her spare time she enjoyed sewing, attending to her very large and beautiful garden, and her "labor of love" creating lovely homemade quilts which she gifted each child, grandchild and great grandchild. Frances was an immaculate homemaker and excellent cook. She loved to prepare beautiful meals for her family get togethers and for all those that dropped by for a visit, everyone adored her Russian delicacies.

Frances will be lovingly remembered by her son Allen Davidoff (wife Darlene) of Grand Forks, BC. Grandchildren Sasha Kiselbach (husband Craig) Great Grandchildren Hanna and Gage; Andrea Perri (husband Rob) of Prince George, BC.

Son Harry Davidoff (wife Lynette) of Calgary AB; Grandchild Jaime Davidoff (husband Trevor) Great Grandchildren Weston and Kennedy of Calgary AB. Daughter Mercedes Tapp of Cranbrook BC, Grandchild Kyle (wife Kayla) Great Grandchildren Charlee and Jorja of Lloydminister, AB. Sister in-law Liz Argotoff of Grand Forks, BC. Frances is survived by her brother Cecil Babakaiff (wife Susan) of Salmon Arm, BC; sister Linda Soukoroff (husband George) of Jaffray BC and numerous nieces/ nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband Alec Davidoff; sister Ann Makorto; brother in-law Peter Davidoff; brother in-law Nick Makorto; brother in-law John Argotoff, and son in-law Ken Tapp.

Special thank you's to Dr. Brussow and Molly Skerritt and her support team at the Boundary Hospital who helped Frances keep comfortable during her time of need, it was greatly appreciated. Sam and Laverne Seminoff, and to all of you that sent cards, food & flowers we appreciate you all.
