1934-2021 ~ Floyd Melvin Jensen passed away peacefully on July 31, 2021 at the Boundary Hospital at the age of 85. Floyd was born in 1934 in Ontario.
He met his wife Joyce through her brother Ted, as they were in Sea Cadets together. They were married in Thunder Bay in 1953, and moved to Surrey, BC in 1957. They then moved their family to Grand Forks in 1985, where he worked at Brandford Enercon (Roxul). He lived for 20 years after he battled cancer, and fought through a diagnosis of COPD.
Floyd was predeceased by his parents, Chris and Nan Jensen as well as his brothers Rodger, Keith, Gordon, Roy, Johnny, and a sister Evangeline.
He is survived by his loving wife Joyce of 68 years, his daughter Kelly Wass, grandsons Brandon Wass (Andrea and granddaughters Emma and Katelyn), Cody Wass and Skyler Meyer (girlfriend McKenzie).
He is also survived by his 2 brothers Eric (Irene), Jimmy (Linda) and 3 sisters, Bonnie, Darlene (David Jeffrey), Rachel, and many nieces and nephews.
Floyd was a very kind man, willing to help anyone out. He was a very loving husband, father and grandpa.
A big thank you to Wendy and Eric Jensen, Paul Plamondon and McKenzie Turner and her mom for help with Floyd and Joyce in the recent months. Thanks as well to Brandon, Andrea, Cody and Skyler and to the Grand Forks Funeral Home.
A celebration of Floyd's life will be held with immediate family and friends on September 5, 2021 which would have been his 86th birthday. He is going to be missed. It won't be the same without him. Arrangements have been entrusted to Grand Forks Funeral Home gffh@shaw.ca
