FLORENCE (FLO) LILLIAN FARRELL (nee CARLSON)

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the peaceful passing of our dear mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother at the Boundary Hospital Palliative Care Unit, Grand Forks, B.C., surrounded by family. Mom was born on the family farm near Ratner, Saskatchewan. She was predeceased by her parents, Ida Louise Carlson (Olson) and Severt Carlson; daughter, Diane Range; brothers, George and Stanley Carlson; sisters, Lydia and Selma; and Len Farrell, the father of her children.
Mom is survived by her son, Dale Farrell (Kay Fergusson) of Qualicum Beach, B.C.; daughters, Eileen Farrell (Ron Hiebert) of Saskatoon, SK and Shirley Pitchko of Christina Lake, B.C.; son-in-law, Murray Range; grandchildren: Shad Farrell (Tammy Howatt), Shaun Farrell (Chrisa), Jason Farrell (Andrea), Tammy Pitchko, Sherri Anton (Darren); Debbie Harris (Michael) and Andrea Comis; great-grandchildren Lily, Max, Adam, Emily, Matthew, Corey, Jessie, Lacie, Jordan, Shad and Anson; and Great Great Granddaughter Alex. Mom is also survived by brothers Carl (Doreen), Dave (Florida), Mel (Dorothy) and Willie (Hazel); and sisters, Ruth Archer and Clare Simpson (Tom); and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mom was a hard worker all her life. She loved music, dancing and socializing. After moving from Saskatoon, SK to Christina Lake, B.C., in the mid 1970s, she operated the Question Mark Café for a number of years. As a longtime resident, she will be remembered by many friends and acquaintances.
As per Mom’s wishes, a memorial service will be held at a later date at Christina Lake, B.C. In lieu of flowers, the family wishes any donations be directed to the Christina Lake Fire Department.
The family wishes to thank the caring staff of the Community Care Services Grand Forks Health Unit, and the Palliative Care Unit of the Boundary Hospital, Grand Forks, B.C.
