It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Vi Galloway at Hardy View Lodge. Vi was born in Innisfail, Alberta.
Vi was pre deceased by her parents, her Husband Don, Sister Fay, and Brother-in-laws Pete and Ben.
Vi is survived by son Bob, son Bill (Jeannie),Two Grandsons, Ryan (Celinda) and Jamie (Tonya) and Special girl Kiandra. Two Great Grandsons Mason and Dayton. Nephews Larry and Allan, And her Sylvee.
Don and Vi were married on October 29th, 1947. They made their home in Cloverdale, B.C. Vi worked at Hugh & McKinnon Insurance for many years, as well as being a second driver for Don's Dump trucks.
Vi was very active in the community, the United Church and many years with the Coverdale Rodeo.
The coffee pot was always on in their home where they welcomed many friends and family.
Don and Vi moved to Grand Forks, B.C. In 1991...Their retirement included many trips in B.C., and Alberta visiting family and friends.... Their trip to Alaska in their truck and camper being one of Vi's favorites.
Vi became very involved the Grand Forks community..again with the United Church, as well as the Grand Forks Fall Fair and Hardy View. She organized a Singles Group, which many ladies enjoyed for many years, as well as the Monday morning coffee clan.
Vi enjoyed cooking and baking...She was famous for her Vinarterta (Icelandic Christmas cake) and every year at least a dozen were made and given away....Her cookie jar was never empty, and always homemade bread and raisin bread.
Vi moved into Boundary Lodge in February 2018, where she was very content.
Never Forgotten, and forever Missed.
