Erika Schoenfeld was born in Germany and moved to Canada with parents at the age of 5. Erika was an accomplished student, becoming a Grade School teacher at the young age of 18 after finishing Grade 13 and 2 years of Teachers College in Ontario. She moved to Trail in the Kootenays to begin her teaching career and after a short stint moved to Prince George where she changed her career path to Counseling, which then lead to counseling Aboriginal Families. She had then found her true career path and stayed with counseling Aboriginal Families until her retirement in 2012. Erika was a real child of the Earth as she loved Gardening, yard work, hiking and just being outdoors. Erika is predeceased by her father Ted Schoenfeld and survived by her mother Nellie, sister Irene, Brother Rudy, nephew Jeff (Kristina), nieces Tara (Randy) Paige (James) grand-niece (Abby). A celebration of life will be held in the Spring when Mother Earth awakens.
