"Sometimes memories sneak out of my eyes and roll down my cheeks."

It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Elizabeth (Betty) Louise Greschner on Thursday, November 16, 2017 at the South Okanagan General Hospital.

She leaves behind to mourn, her husband John; children Alan (Gerry) Greschner, Lorie (Kees) Nierop, Julie (Lief) Hallstrom, Michael (Ninette) Greschner and Gary (Kris) Greschner; brother Anton Boyo; grandsons Dylan, Devin, Jay, Brodie and Logan; three great-grandchildren as well as numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.

She was predeceased by her parents Anton and Teresia Boyo as well as her sisters Mary Dunn, Catherine Harfmann and Antoinette Boyo.

Betty was born on November 28, 1934 on her family's ranch on Rock Mountain Road, Bridesville, BC. She later lived in Summerland with her older sister Mary and her brother-in-law John while she attended her senior years of high school. Summers were spent working in the Summerland Cannery and Packing House.

On June 12, 1954, Betty married the boy next door, the love of her life, John Greschner. For a brief period, they lived in Keremeos, Osoyoos before buying their own ranch back on Rock Mountain Road where they lived and raised their family until 1980. They moved to Midway and lived there from 1980 - 2003 before settling in Osoyoos to be closer to family and friends.

Through the years, the Rock Creek Fair was a fall favourite of John & Betty's where they often volunteered. Betty had a passion for gardening and baking where her competitive spirit led her to the award of Grand Aggregate at the fair.

John and Betty enjoyed travelling and shared many adventures, visiting family locally and abroad. Some of their memorable vacations were Europe, Australia, New Zealand and the USA.

A funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, November 28, 2017 at St. Anne's Catholic Church, Osoyoos, BC.

Interment and committal will follow at the Osoyoos Lakeview Cemetery. A reception in the church lower hall will follow the committal.
