December 24, 1931 - May 10, 2025
In Loving Memory
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Elizabeth (Betty) Elsie Brothers, a loving mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, and cherished friend.
Predeceased by her beloved husband Don and sons, Mark and Patrick, Betty passed away peacefully on May 10th, 2025, at the age of 93.
Born on December 24, 1931, in Gimli, Manitoba, she spent her childhood in Winnipeg before moving to British Columbia to raise her own family and run the Betty Boop Cafe in Penticton, where she created her signature dish, the Hot Chicken Caesar salad.
Betty will be lovingly remembered by all who knew her. She delighted in spending time with family and friends and hosted the best parties. She especially loved Hawaiian luaus, her annual high tea, and Christmas parties, and of course dinners and other shenanigans with her gang, The Golden Girls.
Her family was always her priority, and she cherished every moment with her daughter Alycia (Terry) and sons, Mark and Patrick. Betty adored her grandchildren: Bobbi (Zorion), Challen (Kristen), Devan, and Brendan (Beatrice); as well as her 6.5 grandchildren, Mikayla, Emma, Avery, Theodore, Riley, and Finn, and Little Peanut, who will arrive later this year.
A Catholic service will be held on May 23 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Ann's Church in Penticton, BC.
