1925 to 2011


Ed passed away peacefully April 16, 2011, at the age of 85 years at Boundary Hospital. He leaves to mourn his loss, his devoted wife of 39 years, Velma; sons: Cody, Walter (Marie) and Wesley (Vy); daughters: Patricia (Mike), Leah (Derwin), Dixie (Richard), Maxine (Doug), Cynthia (Tony) and Goldie (Mike); 10 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Ed was predeceased by his mother Margaret, father Ernest and brother, Louis.

Ed was a paratrooper in WWII, Park Warden in Jasper National Park, Chief of Police in several Alberta centers as well as a farmer. He loved the bush life, wild animals, old vehicles and country and western music.

In accordance to Ed’s wishes, there will be no service or celebration of life. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Grand Forks Funeral Home and Cremation Center Ltd. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Boundary Community Hospice Association, Box 2647, 7649 22nd Street, Grand Forks, B.C., V0H-1H0 or B.C. Lung Association, 2675 Oak Street, Vancouver, B.C., V6G-2K2.
