Dulcie Nella Baxter (nee Brimacombe)

November 13, 1946 – November 5, 2015

Dulcie Nella Baxter passed away peacefully into the arms of her Saviour on November 5, 2015 after a 40 year struggle with Lupus. She is survived by her loving husband, Rob Baxter, who cared for her faithfully throughout all the trials of her difficult illness; her mother Mary Sherwood Brimacombe (nee Smyth); two older sisters, Leiani Anthony and Barbara Carver and their families, and her adoring first cousins, Jill Smyth and and Penny Cleator.

Dulcie was born in Victoria, B.C. but grew up in West Vancouver. She received a teaching degree from UBC and taught school in West Vancouver and Dawson Creek. She travelled extensively in the Far East and worked in Japan and Australia during the 1970’s.

The onset of Lupus disease at age 29 caused her to cease her teaching career in 1975. Dulcie recovered her health to be well enough to marry Rob Baxter on July 4, 1981. They lived in West Vancouver until 2009 and then moved to Grand Forks. Dulcie will long be remembered for her hospitality, her strong faith in Jesus Christ and her unwavering love for her husband, Rob. Her cheery spirit and warm smile followed her everywhere.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Grand Forks Gospel Chapel on November 21 at 11:00 am. Donations can be made to Voice of the Martyrs Inc., Box 608, Streetsville, ON, L5M 2C1
