DOUGLAS JAMES LESERGENT

Douglas James LeSergent passed away peacefully on February 16, 2017 with his mom and dad by his side after a courageous battle with cancer.

Doug was born on February 13, 1964 in Grand Forks, B.C. Where he spent his entire life. As a child Doug attended Dr. D.A. Perley Elementary School, and loved to ride his bike. He was always fascinated with power equipment of any kind and could often be found watching road construction.

Doug was employed at Broadacres Association for Community Living where he worked in the wood shop as well as the city gardening crew. His favourite thing to do while at Broadacres was operate the lawn tractor.

In later years Doug could often be seen walking and talking to people in the downtown core.

Doug loved to go fishing with his dad up the North Fork. He would often tell stories and show pictures about the many large fish he had caught in the Granby River.

Doug had a passion for music, massing a collection of records, CD’s, and tapes totally well over one thousand. Like his dad, Doug’s favourite artist was Chet Atkins and he had 82 records by him alone.

Doug had trials in his life which he overcame without complaint in his own unique style. Those that knew him knew that he was a gentle person at heart who lived life on his own terms.

Doug will be missed and remembered by his mom and dad, Bill and Muriel LeSergent, sisters Barb and Sandy, brother Alan, and brothers-in-law Phil and Tiny, as well as nieces, nephew and great nieces and nephews, numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

Doug had requested that there be no service, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Boundary Community Hospice Volunteer Driver Program or a charity of your choice.
