March 6, 1931 – August 21, 2013

Doris was born in Mullan, Idaho. She moved with her family to Canada at age 1 ½ where she went to school in Strathmore, Alberta. She was predeceased by her brothers, Mel and Ralph, and sister, Trudy. She has one surviving sibling, Leona Sander. Doris had four children, Carol (Len), Bill (Lori), Kathy (Larry) and Rick (Sue); 5 grandchildren, Gregg (Suzy) Vicki, Megan, Sean and Erin; 2 great-grandchildren, Tiago and Neve. She adored her dog, Joey.

From 1979-1990 Doris owned and operated Christina Pines RV Park in Christina Lake. For over 20 years Doris spent her winters in Mexico and Arizona.

Doris was instrumental in starting the first Red Hatters in Grand Forks where she was very active. She volunteered and participated in the annual Fall Fair for many years, and won the Grand Aggregate Champion in 2002.

She loved canning, baking and did almost every craft imaginable. Doris was an avid gardener, loved her fish ponds and took pride in her home. She loved spending time with her family, neighbors and friends.

Doris lived life to the fullest every day. She was one class act! We love you Mom, and we will miss you so much.
