February 17, 1941 - May 13, 2020
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of our Mom and Nanny. Donna passed away suddenly at her home in Grand Forks B.C.
Donna was born February 17, 1941 In Winnipeg, Manitoba. She was predeceased by her parents Nicholas and Elizabeth Schewchuk and her infant son David Farley. She is survived by her son Denis (Pam Pavan) her daughter Kathleen (Keith) and her grandchildren Brittney, Levon, Emma and Deric. She is also survived by her sisters Marlene,Trudy and Dianne. She lived in Winnipeg until her late teens then traveled out to Vancouver BC where she met and married John Farley. Shortly after they moved to the west coast of Vancouver Island and settled in the town of Ucluelet. There they had their children and later moved to Christina Lake for sunshine and warmth.
Later on Donna ended up living on her own in Grand Forks. Throughout her years she had many challenges in which she handled with grace and dignity. We are so proud of you mom..
In the early days Donna worked at the local hardware store and from there she spent many years volunteering. She volunteered at Broadacres Society, Grand Forks Library, Friends of the Library, Grand Forks flour mill and the Art Gallery. She loved all the amazing people she met throughout these years. While she was at the library she received the Grand Forks volunteer of the year award. She was also an avid reader and art collector. But her greatest love was her grandchildren. Nanny was always there to look after and protect them.
She will be forever missed. As mom would say miss me but let me go.
