It is with heavy hearts that we announce that Don Nielsen passed away peacefully in the North Okanagan Hospice with family at his side, on April 30th, 2021 at the age of 88 years.
Don was born in Radville, Saskatchewan on October 7th, 1932. His family moved to Bridesville, B.C. in 1944.
Don and Lorraine retired to Falkland, B.C. in 2005 where Don was an avid volunteer for the local stampede and skating rink.
There was never a person who he would not stop to chat with.
Don leaves behind his wife Lorraine, to whom he was married for 65 years; and their family, Debbie of Ponoka, Alberta, Gail of Falkland, B.C., Darryl (Lorretta) of Grand Forks, B.C. and Leanna (Murray) of Eaglesham, Alberta; one brother, Wayne (Val) or Winnipeg, Manitoba; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great- grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, in-laws, sister, infant daughter and infant great-grandson.
In respecting Don's wishes, he was cremated and there will be no service held.
As an expression of sympathy, those who wish to do so may send donations to the North Okanagan Hospice Society, 3506- 27th Avenue, Vernon, B.C. V1T 1S4 or pull out the crib board and have a game in his honour.
