Donald Leslie Reed was born on February 22, 1962 in Soellingen, Germany and passed away on May 29, 2013 in Grassland, Alberta.

Don’s working career spanned both coasts from Vancouver to Halifax and up to Fort McMurrary. He was an active and influential member in each of the communities he resided in, being involved in the Masonic lodges, Ashlar Club, the Shrine, Royal Arch Masons, Eastern Star, Ducks Unlimited and the church. Don enjoyed the outdoors, especially taking his dog duck hunting or going elk/deer hunting with friends. What Don lacked in height he made up for in heart. He could always be easily recognized in his camouflage baseball cap, with an infectious smile. He had an enthusiasm that was easily spread to everyone he met, and he was known for getting things done.

He leaves behind Sheri, his wife of 12 years, and their four children, Bryan, Jared, Andrew and Katelyn. He is also survived by his parents Gordon and Cecile Reed; sister Karen (Clive) Bailey; mother-in-law Celia Weishaupt; sister-in-law Jennifer (Jason) Bolen; 4 nephews, Colin, Austin, Allan Bailey and Tyler Bolen; and 3 nieces, April and Alena Bailey, and McKenzie Bolen, as well as numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

A Memorial Service and Celebration of Don’s life will be held at the Royal Canadian Legion Hall, 7353 6th Street, on July 27, 2013 at 1:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to the charity of your choice.
