Don was born in Coldstream B.C. over 101 years ago. Early in his youth he decided that further schooling and fruit farming was not his adventure and was soon onto another venture on his horse to Hedley BC. There he helped Pat Wright horse-pack mining equipment to the surrounding mines. Soon on another venture he and his partner Russel Overton rode horseback to Anahim Lake BC. Not finding a suitable homestead he returned to work in the Nickel Plate Mine at Hedley. World War Two had started and he joined up to see active service in France, Belgium, Holland and Germany. Don returned, married and started a trail riding adventure at Kinbasket Lake BC. Looking for suitable winter horse pasture he and his wife found their ranch on the Kettle River near Westbridge in 1948. He enjoyed road trips with his home made camper and remained on the ranch enjoying all the activities till age 99.

Predeceased by his sisters Pat & Gwen. Survived by his sons Bob (Kathrine), Dan (Kathy) and grandson Sandy.

The family wishes to thank the Nurses at Hardy View Lodge for their care and the many other friends and ladies that helped Dad through his last days. No service by request.
