With tears and heavy hearts we announce the passing of our beloved Diane in Boundary Hospital on March 11, 2013.

Diane was born on February 10, 1944 at Grand Forks to parents Fred and Nellie Makaoff.

Diane was employed as a bookkeeper for Dave Moore Motors in Grand Forks when she met and married Ward Walker with whom she had two children, a son, Gary and a daughter, Tara. The marriage was not meant to be and Diane and Ward separated. She then tried working at several part-time jobs, but, eventually decided that she would rather stay home and raise her children. Her children were the most important part of her life; she loved them dearly and did an admirable job of raising them. A very special and favorite part or her life was granddaughters Hailey and Jayden.

During 2012 she became ill and was eventually diagnosed with that most feared of all diseases, cancer. Her disease turned out to be very aggressive and shortly after diagnosis it took her away.

Diane enjoyed her computer, emails with family and friends and was very proud of assisting with Border Bruins bingo and selling admission tickets at Border Bruin games.

Diane will be forever remembered and sadly missed by her son Gary, Grand Forks and her daughter Tara (Murray), Pitt Meadows, granddaughters Hailey and Jayden, Pitt Meadows, older brother Frank (Frances) Makaoff, Grand Forks and younger sister Connie (Ken) Arishenkoff, Grand Forks, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Diane was pre-deceased by her parents Fred and Nellie Makaoff, aunt Helen Hutchinson (Rezansoff), uncles Frank and John (Blade) Rezansoff. May God accept her into his Heavenly Kingdom and may she forever rest in peace. Vechnaya Pamyat.

Cremation and no service by request. Arrangements entrusted to Everett and Deborah Baker of Grand Forks Funeral Home. A private family service will be held at a later date.
